Gwent: The Witcher Card Game going into public beta next week

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is soon going to step into the public beta phase. This means that everyone will be able to try it out on PC, Xbox One, or PlayStation 4.

After spending more than half a year in a closed-beta, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is going into the next stage. CD Projekt RED has announced that the game’s public beta is starting next week, on May 24, 2017 on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Since that day everyone will be able to test the standalone version of The Witcher 3’s mini-game (now greatly expanded) before the full release. Note that the launch of the public beta is going to be preceded by a technical transition, starting May 22, during which the game’s servers will be offline.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game open tests are starting next Wednesday.

For the current players this will mean complete reset of card decks and progression. However, they will be rewarded for their activity with Card Kegs and other goodies, and will have all purchased Card Kegs returned. Look for details on the official website. You are also invited to watch the public beta preview with the developers on Twitch for more details on the changes that await the game itself.

In its current state Gwent: The Witcher Card Game offers competitive multiplayer and skirmishes against AI. The full version will also contain single player story-driven campaigns based on the original novels by Andrzej Sapkowski. These, unlike online gameplay, will be paid.
