We’ve already seen games where foes put on our way are just so-called bullet sponges. Differing only in their own health pool and damage dealt, they are uninteresting opponents to face otherwise. Fortunately, many productions take a different approach where enemies have some kind of gimmick that makes them more exciting to combat. Helldivers 2 also follows that path, where many extraterrestrials thrown your way require wits to bring them down effectively. One of such pesky adversaries is Automaton – Scout Strider. If you are unsure how to beat it, worry not, we have prepared something that will help you.

Beating Scout Strider in Helldivers 2

There are two factions that you will meet on your adventure in Helldivers 2 (at least for now) – Terminids and Automatons. The latter features seemingly not so menacing Scout Strider. However, despite its looks, this turret on stilts can pose a challenge. Their core is well protected and thanks to long legs they are fast and elusive, what can you do?

The answer is quite simple – cripple them by shooting their legs. This will limit their maneuverability significantly, allowing you to focus on the machine’s pilot. Disposing of it will completely neutralise Scout Strider.

To help you with this task, you might want to try not so obvious weapon for this task – Autocannon. It may not be the great choice to fire at the main part where the turret is located, since it’s heavily armoured, but it should do great work at destroying the legs of the Automaton. We have also covered another weapon that you may want to explore – Railgun.

Hopefully, armed with this knowledge Scout Striders will no longer be able to pull your leg during the fight. Good luck!
