Valentine Merchant is a character that sells high quality equipment. Unfortunately, he will not accept standard currency, because he prefers Heart Candy. Due to the fact that you will find better equipment in his assortment than at other merchants, it's worth stocking up on armaments from him while the NPC is still available.
Heart Candy in Dark and Darker - how to get it?
As we mentioned, Valentine Merchant only accepts Heart Candy in exchange for his goods. We can obtain this currency simply by playing and defeating opponents from whom gems drop. A perfect example of this is a flying mob called Death Skull or Mummy. However, it is worth noting at this point that Heart Candy will not always drop and sometimes you need to spend some time to collect enough of these items to be able to make purchases from the merchant.
