Iconic FPS Series Returns; IGI Origins Gameplay Trailer

The latest installment of the I.G.I. series has received a gameplay trailer. Fans are mostly pleased, although there was no shortage of concerns about similarities to the Splinter Cell series.

Yesterday, Antimatter Games, the creators of the I.G.I. series. and Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, released a new trailer for I.G.I. Origins. There really is something to look at - this is the first footage on the game engine, focusing on showing gameplay. The verdict? Fans can rest assured.

The gameplay trailer showcases key elements of the series, such as stealth and silent kills. There were also shootouts, which, combined with tension-building music and the narrator's voice, build a great atmosphere.

The latest installment of the series is a prequel to Project IGI. Its action takes place in the 1980s, during the cold war era. This is indicated by the uniforms and vehicles of the opponents, the skin-piercing harshness and the rocket visible at the end, suggesting the return of nuclear weapons (like in the first part).

Fans of the I.G.I. series satisfied

The community warmly welcomed the latest footage from I.G.I. Origins. On websites like YouTube or reddit there is no shortage of voices of satisfaction, suggesting that a good return of the series is being prepared. There was also no shortage of concerns, related to the fact that the gameplay and atmosphere are not too different from what can be experienced in Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts or the Splinter Cell series. For the moment, we do not know the game's release date.

I.G.I. Origins is expected to be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One (the latest consoles can't be ruled out either). The first time we heard about the game was 5 years ago, but since then the developers have revealed very little information. Of interest, we can mention one of the missions in the game, which action will be set in communist Poland.
