On May 25th of this year, the strategy game Imagine Earth from Serious Bros. will have its official release. It will be released after spending seven years in Steam's early access.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. On May 25, strategy game Imagine Earth will have its official release;
  2. The launch will take place after seven years in early access;

In December 2018, DayZ officially left early access, after five years. Due to the length of this period, the title became the butt of numerous jokes among the gaming community. The post-apocalyptic MMO survival from Bohemia Interactive, however, is not a record holder when it comes to the duration of Early Access period. There are titles on the market which spent even more time there. An example can be Imagine Earth from Serious Bros. This title, which is a real-time strategy that enables us to colonize planets, debuted in Early Access in May 2014, exactly seven years ago. Thankfully, fans of the game won't have to wait much longer for the official release. According to a recent announcement of the developers, it will take place on May 25, which is next Tuesday.

On the occasion of the announcement of Imagine Earth's official release date, Serious Bros. also published a new trailer for its work. It presents more or less what the virtual managers of space colonies will have to deal with as part of the game. We're talking about building infrastructure, dealing with disasters or conducting research. You can watch the whole video below.

Imagine Earth's departure from the early access phase will not, of course, mean the end of its development. The creators have announced that they are already working on an expansion pack. In it, we'll be able to colonize entire procedurally generated galaxies, and the importance of trade between planets will be increased.

In their announcement, the team at Serious Bros. also thanked for the support of over 43,000 players who decided to purchase the title during the Early Access period. If we would like to join them, Imagine Earth costs around $20 on Steam.
