IGN has published exclusive gameplay from the upcoming soulslike Lords of the Fallen (available below). The footage shows the game's "meat" - in addition, the kind that fans of this sub-genre like the most, namely boss fights.

Or actually a single boss, because although the clash has clearly been chopped into completely different phases, in which we face two enemies, it seems, we will most likely have to survive them without being able to regenerate.

  1. The first phase seems quite easy. Our opponent is Tancred, the Master of Castigations - a rather slow knight wielding a spear and shield, of the sort that the Dark Souls series has a plenty. His blows seem to inflict quite a lot of damage - it's hard to judge, since you can't see the interface, but that's the conclusion that comes from the fact that the character heals after most of the hits he receives - but they are telegraphed, so it should be relatively easy to avoid them.
  2. The second phase begins when we take down Tancred. It turns out that he had an unusual "bond" with his bestial brother, known as Reinhold the Immured. The latter bears a slight resemblance to the beasts from Bloodborne - is also noticeably faster than Tancred and has ranged attacks, making the fight seem much more difficult. Unfortunately, its finale was not presented.

Premiere of Lords of the Fallen has been scheduled for October 13, 2023. The game will be released on PC, PS5 and XSX/S. It is worth mentioning that on consoles the game will run at 60 frames per second.
