Mario Kart Arcade GP VR gets a new trailer

Bandai Namco Entertainment is working on Mario Kart Arcade GP VR, a VR-based racing game using the license of Nintendo’s famous brand. The game will be played on HTC Vive at Namco’s VR Zone Arcade in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Right now, there is no telling whether it will be available anywhere else, including traditional platforms. A short, half-a-minute trailer of the game has emerged on YouTube via VR and Fun (you can watch it below).

The video shows that Mario Kart Arcade GP VR is basically the same multiplayer experience that fans know from previous installments, but with greater immersion thanks to VR support. As usually, players assume the roles of famous characters from Nintendo games, such as Mario and his brother Luigi, Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, or Bowser, and race across crazy tracks full of obstacles and power-ups. This simple premise works fine since the series’ first installment, released on SNES in 1992, and all the way to Mario Kart 8, which has become Wii U’s best selling title and is now enjoying much popularity on Nintendo Switch too.

Mario Kart Arcade GP VR is designed for special VR stations available in Namco’s VR Zone Arcade in Tokyo.
