Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Mod Restores Original Camera Shots

BioWare has made Mass Effect: Legendary Edition less sexist than the original, but players don't like the change and have used mods to bring back some female-focused camera shots in cutscenes.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has proven to be more than successful - the title quickly made its way to the bestseller list on Steam, and subsequent patches (including those removing Denuvo protection) have resulted in over 90% of positive user reviews on Valve's platform. BioWare's changes to the original trilogy were not to the liking of all players, however. Some of them expressed dissatisfaction, for example, due to the new camera shots in cutscenes, thanks to which the buttocks or breasts of female characters were less exposed. The modding community came up with a solution for such people and restored a bit of old spirit to Legendary Edition.

An example of a scene altered with the help of the mod is the memorable conversation with Miranda, held at the beginning of the quest Prodigal Daughter in Mass Effect 2 (see video above). There are, of course, more similar changes throughout the trilogy, but this one pretty clearly shows that some changes the players didn't like. And while you might wonder if it's worth your time to create and install this kind of content the popularity of the material on Reddit and YouTube (where you'll find a link to NexusMods.com under the video) seems to suggest a clear answer to that question. Besides, BioWare assured that mods will be an important part of the game, right?

It's also worth mentioning that further mods for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition should soon pop up like mushrooms after the rain. There's a toolkit for modding, called Legendary Explorer, which, according to an announcement on Twitter yesterday, is currently in beta. You can try it out right now, but keep in mind that it is not completely stable.

The Mass Effect: Legendary Edition set was released on May 14 on PC, PS4 and XONE, and as part of backward compatibility also on PS5 and XSX|S (since the release it is also available in the EA Play Pro subscription).
