One of the Best-rated Games in History Gets New Version

The first Metroid in 3D is back in a revamped version. It is one of the best-rated games in the history of the video game industry. It is accompanied by a surprise for old fans of the series.

During yesterday's Nintendo Direct show we received another batch of Switch game announcements and various announcements. We also got a much-anticipated release - we mean the refreshed version of the original Metroid Prime.

Metroid Prime Remastered, because this is the title in question, is now available for purchase in Nintendo eShop store, while the boxed version will go on sale on March 3, 2023. The remastered edition for Switch offers, among other things. revamped graphics and sound, as well as updated controls (support for both analogs) in several different schemes.

If this is your first encounter with the series, you must know that it's definitely a title worthy of attention. The first-person sci-fi shooter starring Samus Aran, armed with a high-tech battle suit, is one of the best-rated games ever.

Metroid Prime, originally released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube console and being the first part of the series to be transferred to the third dimension, has an average rating of 97/100 on Metacritic (based on ratings from 70 critics). Gamers rate the title at 8.9/10.

Metroid in the old style

Nintendo also took into account older fans of the series - being a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber you can play selected titles, including Metroid II Return of Samus from Game Boy.
