Capcom announced thatMonster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, a turn-based spin-off of the publisher's popular series, is coming to PC. The PC edition will be released on Steam on July 9, this year, simultaneously with the previously announced Nintendo Switch edition.
The PC version was revealed during a virtual event for the fans. During the event the devs also announced that in contrast to the previous installment Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will offer a co-op mode. The game will feature a dynamic system of difficulty scaling, adjusting it to the number of players and the level of their characters.
During the game we'll be able to create virtual labels, describing our goals and gameplay styles and based on them we'll be able to find players with similar preferences and invite their friends to a partcular label. After completing the adventure we'll be able to like our comrades in arms, which will increase the chances of meeting them again in the future as part of matchmaking.
It is worth recalling that rumors about a possible PC version appeared back in November last year. They were based on documents that were supposedly stolen from Capcom during a hacking attack. They mentioned PC releases of three productions from the franchise. Apart from Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and Monster Hunter: Rise (the PC edition of which was revealed two weeks ago), the first Monster Hunter Stories was also mentioned there, so it's likely that the publisher will soon officially announce the port of this game as well.
Fans of the series should be happy to know that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin will launch on PC on the same day as the Nintendo Switch version is released. In the case of Monster Hunter: Rise the console edition will be released this month, while we will have to wait until 2022 for the PC edition.
