Moi Rai Games’ Monster Sanctuary, a unique mashup of the metroidvania genre with that of RPG monster catching, gets a December release date for the Switch.

After impressive Kickstarter success back in 2018, Moi Rai Games’ Monster Sanctuary has been in early access on Steam for a little over a year. Earlier today, Nintendo announced that the game would arrive on the Switch on December 8th.
The game is a monster catching RPG, similar to Pokemon, but centered around a metroidvania playstyle as well. This adds to the growing list of monster catching games coming to, or already on, the Switch.
The game has fantastically retro graphics, tactical turn-based combat, unique skill trees for each monster, and the ability to battle with your friends.
Different monsters will allow you to explore different parts of the world, from gliding across gaps, slashing through vines, and smashing through walls.
The game brings a unique twist to the two styles of games it brings together, and will likely find a great home on the Switch.
What do you think? Will this be on your Switch wishlist? Monster Sanctuary comes to the Switch on December 8th.
