The Mortal Kombat series has been known for its enormous brutality since its inception in the first half of the 1990s. Unfortunately, both movies set in the universe of the franchise, which until now have seen the light of day, could not fully show it. Luckily for the fans of bloody brawls, the approach of the creators of the new screen adaptation of Mortal Kombat is completely different. As its screenwriter Greg Russo revealed on Twitter, the film will be exclusively for adult viewers.

The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie will not lack even the iconic Fatality moves, which are one of the highlights of the franchise. This is the first time they will appear on the big screen. Unfortunately, Russo didn't want to tell us what Fatality will be in production, but it's time to get ready for spinal extraction and limb resection.

This is not the only information related to the new adaptation of Mortal Kombat that has appeared in the media in recent days. Recently we also learned the name of an actor playing the role of Sub-Zero, who is one of the most recognizable warriors of the series. His name Joe Taslim, and he is the Indonesian judoka we have seen in the Fast and Furious 6, Star Trek: Into the Unknown and the Warrior series. Thus, the rumors from last year, according to which in the new film from the Mortal Kombat universe we were supposed to see neither Sub-Zero nor Scorpion, were proven false. As a result, we can also put the revelations about fourteen-year-old Raiden between fairy tales, although who knows, maybe the creators will surprise us with something else.

Sub-Zero will appear in the upcoming Mortal Kombat adaptation.

The upcoming Mortal Kombat movie was officially announced in May this year. It is produced by James Wan, known as the creator of such films as Aquaman, Saw or Fast and Furious 6. Simon McQuoid, a debutant in this position, will direct the film. All the the film will be shot in South Australia.
