Life is giving you a hard time, and you feel you need to let it loose in the game? This mod will allow you to turn Cyrodiil into a battlefield.
Not all mods are meant to fix games - in fact, some are intentionally created to break them (not literally, of course). A perfect example is the deadly baguette from Baldur’s Gate 3 - a modded weapon so powerful, it puts many of the game’s official ones to shame. That said, Bethesda definitely takes the lead here - especially with the recent Oblivion Remastered.
Did you have a bad day at work? Did your kid decide to turn your paperwork into a coloring book? Did you have an argument with someone? This mode is a great way to blow off some steam.
Forget stress relief toys - Time-Has-Come’s mods, first shared on Reddit, take stress relief to a whole new level. The Mad Destruction project lets you destroy every building in Cyrodiil using spells. Using a fireball to win an argument suddenly hits different, right?
The scene above shows an early version of the mod, which may still have some occasional frame rate drops. They are less about abrupt texture failures and more about minor inconsistencies in the game, which the modder intends to fix. This idea owes much of its success to Unreal Engine 5 - the author gave resources "zero gravity", which, combined with increased propulsion, creates a spectacular explosion effect.
The damage isn’t permanent and is immediately repaired after loading the game again. If you feel like demolishing some Oblivion landmarks, you can find the mod on Nexus Mods. The creator plans to enhance the mod with features like health bars for destroyed buildings, the ability to destroy using basic attacks, and added sound effects.
If you’re in the mood for something more serious while playing Oblivion, you might want to check out a mod that lets you join the Imperial Legion. It’s your call what sounds more fun.
