The Diablo game series has been around for over 29 years. The universe created by Blizzard Entertainment has often been talked about by players worldwide, thanks to many talented people behind this franchise. One of them is definitely the artist Gerald Brom, who designed the iconic covers for the three most recent games in the Diablo series. Moreover, the series’ developers have often mentioned that his style was a big source of inspiration for them.

In later years, Gerald Brom also created concept art for the third Diablo, and his work directly influenced the fourth game as well. You could say the artist definitely played a huge role in the success of Blizzard’s bestselling games. Because of this, it’s almost unbelievable that a player happened to find and buy a book from the Diablo universe at a flea market - and it was even signed by this very artist.

A one-of-a-kind find

The lucky buyer of the book is a Reddit user known as ThingsStrange. They mentioned that they boughtDiablo III: Book of Cain at a flea market. After the purchase, it turned out the book was signed by Gerald Brom. For the player, it was their first time hearing that name. In the comments under the post, users quickly jumped in to explain Gerald Brom’s role in creating the Diablo series.

He did the Diablo 2, 3, and 4 covers as well as vanilla WoW. A bunch of other games too like Doom II, I think.

Lots of people in the comments are clearly surprised and excited - a find like that is pretty rare and special. More specifically, only 950 copies of the book exist that include Gerald Brom’s signature. You could definitely say that the redditor got really lucky finding such a rare signed edition at an ordinary flea market.
