We recently learned that Ubisoft has further development plans for Assassin's Creed: Shadows. In the coming months, the game will receive, among others, two big updates, which are supposed to attract players again and improve the quality of gameplay.

The first of the planned updates will be added to the game on July 29th, and its main attraction will be the long-awaited New Game+ mode. The second update will launch in September and bring a bunch of improvements to make exploring and playing the game more enjoyable.

One of the most important new features in this update will be the automatic revealing of a part of the map after syncing with a viewpoint. Currently, to explore the game's world, you have to physically travel through different regions. Because the map is large and there are a lot of mountains, it will take a while to complete and will require some patience.

Even though most players were excited about the new feature, many of them also felt a bit bitter - especially those who had spent hours manually exploring the map. Many comments from devastated fans were posted on Reddit. One of the players wrote:

May all those who have spent an incredible amount of time manually exploring the map rest in peace.

Another user, in turn, shared a screenshot of a fully uncovered map, adding with a slight hint of sarcasm:

At least we can say that we were the first.

Of course, there are also positive opinions in the thread - as I mentioned, many players are happy with this improvement, especially since reaching some parts of the map can be difficult and frustrating.

The community of Black Myth: Wukong totally gets this situation because the game didn't have a map at first. It was added a few months after the release, but anyone who had previously discovered all the secrets without it also had to swallow a bitter pill.

The story expansion for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, Claws of Awaji, will be released on September 16th on PS5, XSX/S, and PC.
