More big changes are headed to Path of Exile 2. The endgame will become less deadly, and gaining ascendancy points by the melee classes, a bit easier.
The huge success of Path of Exile 2 didn't make Grinding Gear Games rest on their laurels, and the developers are constantly working on further improvements. A new batch of changes has just been announced, which will be introduced to the game soon.
As mentioned earlier, the option of fast travel between checkpoints. Their quantity will also increase, from which certainly one will appear at the beginning and end of the map. This will significantly reduce the time needed to explore really big locations.
One thing that will definitely delight many players impacted by the recent nerfs is the reduced cost of respec, which means resetting points on the skill tree at higher levels. As a result, it should be 40-50% cheaper between the beginning and the middle of the progress in the final stage of the game.
During the trial, for instance, to gain ascendancy points, melee characters had a much harder time than ranged ones. The new update will make Honor damage less depending on the distance from enemies - in melee, we will receive 35% less.
Furthermore, two major errors will be fixed, which caused damage over time to take much more Honor than it should have.
The devs took a closer look at the excessive damage that players were receiving in the final stage of the game. That damage has been greatly reduced in several ways, allowing our characters to survive more easily.
The developers have already managed to nerf some skills since the launch, but that doesn't mean they only looked at those that were too powerful. There are also plans to buff the weaker ones, some of which we already know about, and they are:
Besides, two new support gems will be added and penalties for many others will be removed or reduced. There were also a few nerfs, including for characters playing against electricity or cold.
