Xbox may give up on another exclusive title, thus coming not only to PC and XSX/S but also to PlayStation 5. Jez Corden from Windows Central claims that Microsoft will, at most, restrict itself to only a few or temporary "exclusives."

Regarding the reasons for this, Corden didn't state it outright, but in reply to a comment, he mentioned that he believes "Xbox thinks hardware is doomed" no matter what actions Microsoft takes. The problem would not even be the reluctance of the company itself, but its investors, who may be discouraged by the lack of growth in the Xbox user base. Perhaps that's why Satya Nadella, the company's CEO, stated at a meeting with them that Microsoft is "redefining what it means to be an Xbox fan, it's about being able to enjoy Xbox on all your devices."

That's why Corden is so confident that Fable will sooner or later hit the PlayStation console. The journalist acknowledges that it might not occur right on the release day, but the game of the new "fairy tale" series installment was reportedly "monstrously expensive" for Microsoft. In other words, it would be in the company's interest to reach as many customers as possible with the new Fable (which has been in development for many years).

Although the Redmond giant is reluctant to share information about the popularity of Xboxes, it's no secret that the sales of Xbox Series X/S are far behind the results of PlayStation 5. In this context, as Corden's post suggests, releasing a high-budget title only on XSX/S (and PCs) would be ill-advised.

We emphasize that these are unofficial information. Similar reports have appeared before, but some of them were quickly discredited.

Nonetheless, in recent months, official announcements have also appeared indicating that Microsoft is moving away from console "exclusives." At least two titles from Xbox studios are heading to PS5: Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Doom: The Dark Ages. Earlier, Hi-Fi Rush, among others, was launched on Sony's console.
