Mixing colors is a tricky process, fortunately we will help you. Here you will find the answer to the “Mix of black and white” Buzzword in Cookie Jam.
It's fair to say that the Buzzwords event is a tradition at Cookie Jam. It consists of answering interesting and sometimes puzzling questions. A casual person might think that these would be about sweets and food. Nothing of the sort! Of course, such questions often appear (like last week), but many of them also relate to completely different areas of life. “You set up a tent in nature here” or “Pictures that show data” are just a few examples. The sixth question of this week’s Buzzwords is about colors! “Mix of black and white” can be a difficult question for someone who is not good with colors, yet the answer to this is trivial!
Ah, the colors, there are so many of them... Admittedly, I have never really bothered with them. My motto was: “A boy can only distinguish three colors - white, black and colorful”. And based on this, I could answer that the mix of black and white is precisely the “colorful” one. Unfortunately, my first attempt was unsuccessful... Yet, when I took it quite seriously, the answer actually turned out to be simple. And it was:
Gray? OK, I lied to you, my second shot was silver (but you know, too many letters in this one). What are the differences anyway? Well, they are in terms of shade and visual effect. Gray is a basic color mixed with black and white, while silver is a metallic shade of gray, often used to describe shiny elements such as silver (obviously) or steel.
I still have one more interesting fact for you about colors. Did you know that there is such a thing as color psychology? Have you ever wondered why red is perceived as a hostile and dangerous, while green is seen as calm and associated with balance, energy and health? This is what the scientific field of color psychology investigates! You will certainly discover more interesting facts in our future articles about the new Buzzwords!
