Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition Announced With TPP Mode

Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition was announced during the Capcom Showcase. Its main attraction seems to be the TPP mode for the base game and a new dedicated campaign.

It seems that Capcom had good reasons to hold a separate showcase this year. At the Capcom Showcase we've seen the announcement of Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition, a new version of one of the best games of 2021, enriched with new attractions. Its main element will be Winter's Expansion, offering:

  • TPP mode (or to be more precise: over the protagonist's shoulder), which can be used to complete the "basic" RE Village;
  • Separate single-player campaign called Shadows of Rose - available only in TPP mode and set 16 years after the events of RE: Village;
  • The Mercenaries Additional Orders, a pack of three additional playable characters for the Mercenaries mode (unlocked after completing Village), featuring Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and the one and only Lady Alcina Dimitrescu.

The first trailer for RE Village: Gold Edition is available below. Watch out for spoilers!

At the same time we learned the release date of Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition. It will be released on October 28, 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S. As you can probably guess, we'll have to pay for the new content, although for now we don't know how much. Preorders are expected to start soon - you will be able to purchase an upgrade to Gold Edition or complete version of the game.
