Riot Announces Arcane Animated Series and Releases Documentary on LoL

Riot Games has announced Arcane, an animated series set in the League of Legends universe. It will debut in 2020. In addition, a documentary film about the history of the famous MOBA game appeared on Netflix.

League of Legends is known for its impressive and very well animated trailers. Moreover, for a web-based MOBA without a story campaign, the title has a surprisingly expanded universe. No wonder that Riot Games wants to use it not only in games, but also in other cultural works. The tenth birthday stream of League of Legends was used to announce an animated series called Arcane, set in the world of the said game's universe. It will debut in 2020. Below you can watch its trailer.

Arcane series is created entirely by Riot Games. It will focus on the story of the inhabitants of Piltover and the Zaun districtlocated south of it. Unfortunately, the project is still at a very early stage of production, so further details about it are not known. However, judging from the trailer, the title will feature heroes known from the game, such as Jinx, Ekko or Ezreal.

And that's not all when it comes to TV and film topics related to the work of Riot Games. A documentary League of Legends Origins, telling the story of the iconic MOBA, from a small demo to a global phenomenon, debuted on Netflix. What's more, the film has a big name at the helm - Leslie Iwerks, nominated for an Oscar for Recycled Life, who earlier created productions about Disney Pixar and Industrial Light & Magic, a special effects company founded by George Lucas. This is a real treat for all League of Legends fans.

The Arcane series will be available for viewing next year.

The announcement of the Arcane series and the premiere of the League of Legends Origins documentary are just a few of the attractions that Riot Games has prepared for the game's tenth anniversary. In addition, the creation of a card game, an FPS and aDiablo style game, taking place in the world of the famous MOBA, was announced.
