Saints Row Reboot May be Announced During Gamescom

Geoff Keighley tweeted a graphic from the official website of the Saints Row series that suggests that Volition is working on a reboot of the first installment. The game will likely be announced this Wednesday during the Opening Night Live event of gamescom 2021.

On August 14, 2019, we informed that work was in progress on a new installment of the Saints Row series. The development of the game, which the industry quite unanimously christened as as the fifth installment, was to be trusted to Volition, the developers of previous games in the series. Despite assurances that the title is at an advanced stage of development, for the next two years we received only promises that the project had not been abandoned. It seems that the wait for its official announcement is slowly coming to an end. What's interesting, the graphics posted on the brand's website suggests that we won't be getting Saints Row 5, but a reboot of the "one".

This information was shared on Twitter by Geoff Keighley, a well-known journalist and game presenter, who will host gamescom's Opening Night Live event on Wednesday, August 25. This almost certainly means that the reboot of the Saints Row series will be one of the main dishes at the upcoming show.
