Dense area of trees sounds quite simple at first, but it is not what most of us, including me, thought. The correct answer is:

1. Dense area of trees – Woods.

I won't hide the fact that my instinct answered “forest” to this one, probably it is true in the case of many of our readers, too. However, this word is one letter too long. Then I realized that there is a word for something smaller than forest, specifically “woods.” This word refers to more limited area covered with trees. For this reason, it is ideal for people who like to walk among trees but are afraid of getting lost or encountering wild animals, which can happen in the big forests.

I love walking in the woods, listening to the birds singing and watching the leaves falling, especially in the autumn. The only problem is the insects, especially mosquitoes, which can annoy even the most peaceful person.

Although this is, at least for me, the closest contact with nature in the area, I associate it, especially at night, with danger or mystery. Maybe it's because I read too many crime novels, where it is a frequent scene of crime. Or maybe it's because I recently played Blair Witch, a game that scared me to death, but also amazed me with its beautifully designed forest.
