Shadows Over Loathing - Choosing Classes and Perks

In this article, we will talk about class selection in Shadows Over Loathing. Find out which profession and perk you should choose.

Shadows Over Loathing is an adventure RPG with an intriguing design, in which the player has the opportunity to solve some dark mysteries. It does not lack a lot of humour either. Sooner or later, everyone will have to choose character class. We will tell you about this choice. We will also tell you which Perks you can obtain. These choices will have an impact on your future pool of skills, so it is worth giving them some serious thought.

Classes

After completing your first real mission - getting the cursed fedora - you will go to sleep. While you dream, you will be able to talk to a mysterious character who will offer you a choice of class. There are 3:

  1. Pig Skinner – you can think of this class as a warrior. By choosing it, you will be focusing on direct clashes. The main statistic is Muscle.
  2. Cheese Wizard – this is the character closest to the concept of a mage. He can both deal damage and heal with his skills. The main statistic is Mysticality.
  3. Jazz Agent – A class close to the rogue. Focuses on applying statuses on other characters. Main stat is Moxie.

Perks

Immediately after selecting a class, you will have the opportunity to select a Perk. They will always be the same no matter which class you choose. There are 3:

  1. Cryptobotany (Cryptobotanist) – gather crafting ingredients from plants;
  2. Applied Insectology (INsectologist) – gather crafting ingredients from insects;
  3. The Psychology of Rocks (Psychogeologist) – gather crafting ingredients from rocks.
