Trine developer, Frozenbyte, is going to release its next game in May 2016. Shadwen is a medieval action stealth game featuring SUPERHOT's mechanics and unusual moral perspective.
Frozenbyte, the creators of the Trine series, are about to release their new game. Scheduled for May 2016, Shadwen is a medieval action stealth game based on SUPERHOT’s “time only moves when you move” mechanics. Before Shadwen is out, you can try it out by playing a beta demo, available on Steam for free until February 29. On launch, the game will be available at a discount price of $14.55. Frozenbyte has also announced that Shadwen is coming not only to PC, but also PlayStation 4 – both versions will be out next month.
In Shadwen you play as a female assassin on a quest to kill the king. On her journey she encounters an orphaned girl named Lily, who accompanies the protagonist during most of the game. This creates an interesting ground for moral choices. Guards are aplenty, but you decide how to deal with them – either resort to violence in front of Lily, or find another way so as to keep your real profession concealed. Shadwen will be able to use a grapple hook to get on rooftops and create environmental traps in order to eliminate unsuspecting enemies. For more info, read our preview:
