Songs of Conquest Roadmap Includes Campaigns and Random Maps

Lavapotion, the studio responsible for Songs of Conquest, has announced the game's roadmap for 2022 and 2023. New campaigns, battle system improvements, achievements and much more await us.

Songs of Conquest recorded a successful debut in early access, but it doesn't stop there. The studio responsible for the game, Lavapotion, has finally announced a detailed roadmap (see image below). It includes elements that are to enrich this "HoMM-like" game in 2022 and 2023.

First things first

The developer assures that it listens to the voice of the community. These are not empty words, because the public test version of Songs of Conquest has already seen the implementation of the anticipated simultaneous turns. At the request of fans, the campaign difficulty levels have also been slightly adjusted - on "normal" it should be a bit easier now, while on "hard" an even greater challenge awaits us. The creators warn that both innovations do not work perfectly at the moment.

However, they are just the tip of the iceberg of changes that await us in the more or less distant future. Priority will be given to additional campaigns - each faction is to receive one - and random map generator, which should have a very positive impact on the game's lifespan.

We can also expect AI improvements, bug fixes, better optimization and new language versions. In addition, units will receive additional features and skills, and the network games will see a counter, measuring the amount of time remaining to the end of the turn (perhaps it will be optional).

In the long run, we will have a fully completed map editor, a team co-op mode, more independent enemy units, unrelated to any faction, and the implementation of an achievement system.

Lavapotion is aware, of course, that what fans expect the most are new playable factions. The developer notes, however, that their creation is very time-consuming. So it may happen that a larger number of factions will appear only after the release of version 1.0, which can be expected around May 2023 (early access is to last about twelve months, and the game debuted in it on May 10, 2022).
