Sons of the Forest Launches - Game That Dominated Steam Wishlists

Tonight marks the debut of Sons of the Forest, a survival action game and is a sequel to the hit The Forest.

1. The game will be released today on PC at 7:00 pm CET.
2. The game will be sold as part of Steam Early Access.
3. The developers anticipate that the game will spend 6-8 months in early access, but this period may be extended if necessary.
4. For now we do not know the game's price. What we do know is that version 1.0 will be no more expensive than the Early Access release.
5. The early version will offer both single player and cooperative mulitplayer modes for up to eight people. In the following months, the devs want to add new items and buildings, introduce additional mechanics and expand the story background.

Initially, the developers did not plan early access, but delays in the work made them decided that it would be better to make an early version available than to postpone the release yet again.

Such a decision was well received by the fan community. It comes as no surprise when the first The Forest spent four years in Early Access and the game significantly benefited from this period, so fans are used to playing early versions of this developer's works.

It's worth mentioning that a ton of Steam users are waiting for the game. Last week the game overtook Starfield in terms of the number of players following the title on Steam. Sons of the Forest is currently on more than 215,000 wishlists, making the project the most anticipated game on Valve's service.
