Mining in Star Citizen became more interesting with introduction of Janalite as minable material. Looking for it is very hard but also profitable. Here you will find tips on how to get this precious resource.
Even though Star Citizen has spent years in development and sparked some controversies, it is still work in progress. The game is not forgotten though, as the new updates keep coming. The latest one, marked with number 3.19, introduced Janalite as FPS minable material. In this article you will find what is already known about this resource, how to get it and where to sell it.
Janalite is very rare, yet also very valuable resource. As it is an FPS minable material, it cannot be surface mined. You will have to look for it in underground caves and caverns.
That being said, players have discovered that Janalite can be found only in sand caves which have the loot type “Hopeful Volta”. They also suspect that the material can be located in only 1% of rocks on average.
Miners who have found Janalite are often mentioning caves located on moon Magda orbiting Hurston Super-Earth in Stanton system. One of the explorers reported that they have found the material in Magda’s Cave 21 (23.2310° S, 122.4135° E).
Being scarce resource, Janalite prices are very high. 1 SCU of the material was worth as much as 27M aUAC though its price has been recently lowered to around 17M aUAC per unit.
Initially there were issues with selling Janalite. However, now they seem to be resolved and it can be sold on space stations in admin terminals as any other materials.
