As we’ve already known, Cloud Imperium Games spares no dime on Star Citizen’s cast. One of the leading roles in the game is played by Mark Hamill, best known as Luke Skywalker from Star Wars (fans of Batman may know him as Joker in Batman: Arkham series). The actor will be appearing in Chris Roberts’ space-sim as Lt. Cmdr. Steve ‘Old Man’ Colton. He is an experienced soldier and tough commander, who will make an appearance in Squadron 42 mode, i.e. single player campaign that will be available in the full game next to expansive multiplayer. Check out this PC Gamer’s interview with Mark Hamill to find out more about the character:

In other news on Star Citizen, there is a big update coming up. Right now, alpha v2.0 is available for a limited group of founders on Public Test Universe (PTU), but more people should be joining over time.

The patch introduces a fragment of what is to become the Persistent Universe. Players can visit gas giant Crusader and its surroundings: space stations, moons, asteroid fields, etc. There, they can engage in space battles, do research missions, witness random encounters, as well as fight in FPS mode in a PvP location. Alpha 2.0 is described in details in this document.
