One week - that's exactly how much time is left until pre-order buyers will be able to embark on an unforgettable stellar adventure in Starfield. In connection with the game's upcoming release, we are getting a lot of information about this highly anticipated RPG.

This time Bethesda's publishing director, Pete Hines, provided a portion of details. Present at the European gamescom trade fair the developer told reporters about his impressions of the game and its "irresponsibly large size", compared to which the studio's other games (also famous for their sizable size) may turn out to be "one-night-only" titles.

Hines revealed that he has already spent about 150 hours in the world of Starfield and has barely scratched what Bethesda's work has to offer.

However, size does not always matter, so Bethesda's representative assured that Starfield also offers a great deal of freedom and possibilities. He claims the game has so many features that it seems like a mix of several different titles.

Hines also added that everyone will draw a different experience from the storyline of Starfield. The developer gave the example of two testers, who have had more than 40 hours of playtime, and each got to know the RPG from a completely different side.

You can watch the aforementioned conversation below.

Tips for getting started

The developer also took the opportunity to sell the players on what he believes are extremely important tips they should keep in mind before starting the game. The first of these is to take a completely relaxed approach to gameplay. According to Hines, experiments are most welcome in Starfield .

In addition, Bethesda's director stressed to remember about side activities. Admittedly, they may not seem very interesting at first, but according to assurances, they will lead to unusual places and engaging stories.

New Game Plus mode

It is worth mentioning that Hines confirmed that Starfield includes a New Game Plus mode, which will enable the players, after completing the game, to play it again with certain features, items and skills unlocked during the first playthrough.

And while the developers did not reveal details about the said feature, they did reveal that it is expected to provide "unique and exciting surprises."

What will these "surprises" be? That, unfortunately, we don't know, so we can't help but wait for the first daredevils to complete the game and tell us this secret.

Starfield will debut on September 6 on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Those who decided to purchase the premium edition in pre-order will be able to play the game five days before the release. At launch the game will be simultaneoulsy available through Game Pass.
