The Burning Crusade Classic Pre-patch Goes Live

Blizzard Entertainment released another patch for World of Warcraft Classic. This is the so-called pre-patch preparing the game for the release of The Burning Crusade Classic expansion. The release of the update means that players will have to make an important decision regarding their characters.

IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. WoW Classic received a pre-patch to prepare the game for the release of The Burning Crusade Classic;
  2. Players will have to decide whether their characters will continue to evolve or stay in the world before the expansion.

The MMORPG World of Warcraft - in its Classic version - received a so-called pre-patch, preparing it for the upcoming release of The Burning Crusade expansion (via GameSpot). The update introduces new playable races (Draenei on the Alliance side and Blood Elves belonging to the Horde), as well as changes to items and character classes.

The release of the patch also means that players will have to make an important decision. After logging in to the server with each character we own - but before we start playing - we will have to choose whether we want our character to stay in the world before the patch or continue to level up with content from The Burning Crusade Classic expansion. If we choose the latter option, our avatar will forever lose access to basic WoW (unless we decide to pay for the Clone Character Service, which is described in the box below).

Character Cloning in WoW Classic

Character Cloning lets you copy your character to play in The Burning Crusade Classic while keeping a copy of your character on the old level on the Classic Era server (i.e. game version 1.13). The service is payable and after some perturbations it was finally priced at 15 euros.

As a reminder, The Burning Crusade Classic will recreate the original The Burning Crusade from 2007, which was the first paid expansion for World of Wacraft. The expansion in question will be released on June 1 and will be a free update for all subscribers.
