Diablo IV players are once again expressing disappointment with the game's direction. This time they talk about the design of the fights, which, according to fans, is.... lazy.
The Diablo 4 community has found yet another reason to be dissatisfied. The content in the newer seasons hasn’t been great, and unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there. Many players feel like even the base game is getting worse over time.
A certain thread showed up regarding the fight against Lilith, one of the most important characters in the game. She's been part of the series for a long time and first showed up back in Diablo 2. She takes center stage in the fourth game as its main antagonist.
Lilith has been causing more and more problems for fans with each new season. Fans mostly complain about her attacks being way too powerful - able to take down a player’s character in just one hit. It doesn't help that she's invulnerable for about 70% of the fight due to glitches. On top of that, the visual effects of her attacks blend into the background textures, which makes the fight even more difficult.
She’s not the only fight that leaves fans feeling disappointed though. There’s also a lot of complaints about Andariel and Duriel - according to one of the players, "most boss fights end up being more about running away and avoiding attacks than actually fighting", which they think is lazy design.
I did the math on this shit last season, and it was something like 93% of my time fighting bosses like Lilith, Andariel, etc. It's me simply waiting to kill the boss in a phase transition or invulnerability phase (...).
How after NINE SEASONS does Blizzard not understand that the most DANGEROUS thing should be the most VISIBLE thing and that gamers expect a certain TIMING between a visual warning and the dangerous thing happening. (...)I would LOVE to fight and kill a properly designed Lilith with a mediocre build. That would so much more satifying than nuking her with an S-tier build, using glitches, or simply ignoring she exists which is what I do now.
It looks like Diablo 4 is in for some big changes. Blizzard’s recent closed meeting has gotten a lot of fans talking, and streamers following the news think the game’s development could be taking a big turn soon. There’s a chance the battle in question could be redesigned too.
