The Finals is a multiplayer shooter by Embark Studios that pits players against each other in customizable virtual arenas. The game has completed a round of closed beta in March this year and it is coming back in style with QOL improvements and some new features. However, this time, the playtest will last only a week compared to the previous two-week beta.

The Finals Playtest – Start and End of Closed Beta

The second playtest for The Finals will run from June 14th to June 21st. As before, it will be a closed beta, which means that players cannot freely join without an invitation – it is necessary to request access first. Since the testing has already started, fans should act fast to get a chance to participate.

The Finals Playtest – How to join

Although the testing period has already begun, the procedure to join remains the same:

  1. Sign in to your Steam account;
  2. Go to The Finals page on Steam;
  3. Under the top banner with the game description and trailers, you will see the Request Access button. Click it;
  4. Wait for an invitation when the servers are ready for more participants.

The Finals Playtest – New content

As the developers announced, this round of the Playtest focuses mainly on performance improvements, but the players – referred to as contestants - can also expect new skins and weapons for all character classes. The newly added progression allows customizing character builds. Finally, a new casual-friendly variant of the Quick Play game mode called Quick Cash has been implemented as well.
