After years of drought, the era of abundance has come for the fans of Prince of Persia. The excitement from the January premiere of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown hasn't completely settled, and according to the latest updates, Ubisoft is getting ready to release another game from this franchise. The project is titled The Rogue Prince of Persia.

  1. Evil Empire studio is working on it, the same team that was responsible for the outstanding post-release development of Dead Cells.
  2. There is currently limited information available about The Rogue Prince of Persia. As the title suggests, the game will offer strong roguelike elements, and there are plans to develop the project for many years - just like Dead Cells. Additionally, in terms of graphic style, the devs are strongly inspired by French-Belgian comics.

The game is scheduled for release this year in early access. Interestingly, it will hit Steam Early Access. Therefore, it will be the first Ubisoft game in many years to launch on Steam, instead of being released on the Valve platform only some time after its release in other stores.

It should be emphasized that all this information is just unconfirmed rumors. Nevertheless, the source originates from the Insider-Gaming service, which is operated by the highly esteemed insider Tom Henderson. So it is almost certain that such a project is being developed and its official announcement is just a matter of time.

The latest installment of the series, namely Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, was released in January this year on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. In production there is also Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, which is said to be progressing at a good pace, after the project was taken over by Ubisoft Montreal studio.
