Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Reviews - Solid Borderlands Spin-off

Representatives of the industry media evaluated Tiny Tina's Wonderlands in the first reviews - mostly quite positively. Only those who expected a (r)evolution from Gearbox Software's game were disappointed.

The first reviews of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, a spin-off of the Borderlands series from Gearbox Software have appeared online. The game will be released the day after tomorrow on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S. Their overall message is very positive - from the 47 reviews of the PC version collected on Metacritic.com (in addition to this there are only two reviews on PS5 - with ratings of 9.5 and 8 out of 10), eight were crowned with a score of 9 or higher, while there are as many as twenty-seven "high" 8s.

Admittedly there were a few lower grades, including a six, but everything seems to indicate that the game has mostly lived up to expectations. However, it all depends on what the expectations were - more on that in a moment. First, take a look at a dozen selected notes.

Good game...

Critics are quite unanimous - Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a good game. The title offers humor characteristic of the series, a good shooting model and eye-catching visuals. The style of each of the available areas is described as so varied that looking at the screen is anything but monotonous. Similarly, the constant spitting of lead, fire, or spells at enemies and collecting the thrash loot that drops out of them, in which a pearl is found once in a while.

If you enjoyed this in Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3, from which Tiny Tina's Wonderlands draws in handfuls, this information should be enough for you to reach for the game. However, if you are looking for a foretaste of what Borderlands 4 will offer in the future, then prepare yourself for a slight disappointment.

...but expectations for Borderlands 4 will be much higher

The more critical reviewers complain primarily about the repetitive nature of the gameplay. Not enough that the title does not introduce revolutionary changes - which is exactly what we could expect - this is not even a small evolution. In other words, we got a repetition of what we already know very well - the classic Borderlands formula, along with all its pros and cons. However, if you want to spend a nice time with friends, you should be able to have fun, and the available content is likely to last for a while.
