Users Report Samsung Galaxy Smartphones are Getting Flooded With Ads

More and more users of Samsung Galaxy smartphones complain about the large number of ads. They appear in many of the deafault apps.

Todd Haselton, CNBC's technology editor, has posted a Tweet. We can find out from it that his Samsung Galaxy Z Flip started displaying ads in the app used to make calls. It turns out that this does not only apply to this model.

According to Reddit users, ads also appear on several other Samsung smartphone models. Devices such as S20 Ultra, S20, S10 or Note 9 have been mentioned. Interestingly, some claim that they have not yet encountered the problem. We don't know how the people to whom the ads are displayed are selected, but it is worth noting that it is also reported by users from outside the USA.

Ads can appear almost anywhere. The aforementioned dialer, Samsung Music, Samsung Health or Samsung Pay. The windows with ads are designed in such a way that they look like an element of the app we use. They do not stand out like typical smartphone ads.

The ads cannot be switched off

As reported by Android Police, we can not turn off all ads. We can only try to limit their number. One of the ways is to disable Samsung Push Services - thanks to this we will get rid of ads that appear in the form of push notification. The disadvantage of this solution is that we will not receive any notifications of this type coming from Samsung's applications. We can also disable the personalisation of ads, but this will simply make them not as accurate as they were.

This practice is known in the case of cheaper smartphones, but Samsung products are mostly not. Users are outraged by the fact that advertisements from the manufacturer appear on a device, for which they pay over $1000. The question is whether the creators of the Galaxy series, seeing the reaction of Internet users, will react in some way. Time will tell.
