We Know When Destiny 2 Will Get Final Shape; DLC Launch Will Bring Many Changes
Bungie has unveiled a trailer for the Destiny 2: The Final Shape DLC. In addition, the developers shared a ton of information about the expansion, as well as the new season.
Destiny 2: The Final Form is the final chapter of what Bungie calls the "Saga of Light and Darkness." And while game will be developed in the future, the current story will end with the release of the aforementioned expansion. According to information provided during Bungie's presentation on Tuesday that moment will come on February 27, 2024.
Along with the date announcement, the developers presented a trailer for The Final Shape. You can watch it below.
The expansion's plot will take players inside the Wanderer, the saga's central entity, to put an end to the War of Light and Darkness once and for all. The developers stressed that the campaign is to be linear, and after its completion, a new location - the Pale Heart of the Wanderer - will fully open to the players. Inside, they will meet new enemies who will have the ability to bind the Guardians with their powers on the battlefield.
New opportunities
The latter, however, will not be without a chance in the clash, as Bungie has taken care of some interesting novelties for them. The Solar Warlock, for example, will receive the ability to strengthen attacks of himself/herself and companions. The arsenal of the Void Titan will be supplemented by axes that other players will be able to pick up. The Arc Hunter, in turn, will get special knives that will enable teleportation toward a target.
It is worth recalling that along with the new expansion, Destiny 2 will regain Cayde-6, who is once again played by Nathan Fillion.
The start of the new season
Before it happens, however, Destiny 2 players can take part in the Sorcery Season, which kicked off on August 22 and will run until November 28.. New activities, such as Altars of Summoning and the Savathun Spire, await them as they play.
Big changes starting next year
From March 2024, the seasons will be replaced by episodes - Echoes, Phantom and Heresy - showing the aftermath of the Final Shape. Each will be divided into three acts, with each act appearing every six weeks. They will feature new stories, tasks, activities, weapons, artifact modifications, pass ranks and rewards.

Finally, a reminder that those who place a preorder for The Final Form will receive an exotic Spirit case and a legendary emblem. And if they add a one-year pass to their order, access to the Teselation fusion rifle will be unlocked.
