Last couple days have been very good for the indie horror games fans. Two popular productions have been released on Steam – Buckshot Roulette and Content Warning. The second title was particularly successful. For the first twenty-four hours of its launch, it was given away for free, and as a result it attracted hundreds of thousands of players (although the popularity of this hit has declined in recent days). So, what is this viral title about?

What Content Warning Game Is?

Content Warning is based on similar machanics as Lethal Company or Phasmophobia. It’s a co-op horror game for up to 4 players. The whole gameplay is based on simple principles – you go to a scary place and have to record as many horrifying things as possible.

  1. You cannot stay in a particular location forever. This is because you are limited by your oxygen supply and battery level. Of course, your life can also be ended by a monster.
  2. The game includes some elements of progression. The filmed footage is posted on SpookTube. From the generated views, you will receive money that will allow you to buy better equipment.

Content Warning doesn’t have PEGI or ESRB ratings. So, there is no easy option to check if the title is intended for a younger audience. So, it’s worth looking at the gameplay yourself. At first glance, you can see very colorful graphics, which may bring to mind cartoons. However, the game also features all sorts of monsters, hounted places and death. Therefore, Content Warning is not a title for children.
