WoW Fans Angry and Disappointed With Conclusion to Sylvanas Thread

World of Warcraft players already got to know the ending of the new raid in the Shadowlands expansion. However, no one is celebrating because the crowning animation of Sanctum of Domination disappointed the fans, especially with the conclusion of Sylvanas Windrunner's thread.

Highlights:
  1. World of Warcraft players are complaining massively about the conclusion of the latest raid in Shadowlands;
  2. Fans mainly criticize the crowning animation of Sanctum of Domination, especially Blizzard's resolution of Sylvanas Windrunner's storyline.

A new raid in World of Warcraft has brought with it the conclusion (let's call it that) of the story of one of the most important characters in the modern history of Azeroth. Such situations always spark a lot of excitement among fans, often dividing the community into (at least) two camps. Unfortunately for Blizzard, this time the reaction of players is clearly one-sided. Just take a look at the video on YouTube showing the end of the Sanctum of Domination raid in WoW: ShadowlandsThe video has 10,000 negative reviews with only 4,100 likes.

You don't have to look far to find out the reasons for fans' dissatisfaction. Most of the comments under the video do not leave a dry thread on Blizzard's scriptwriters. Sylvanas Windrunner has long been a source of controversy. It wasn't even about some morally questionable decisions or - not to reveal too much - consequences of her actions on other beloved characters from Azeroth. Players were more bothered by the fact that she had been a very inconsistent character for quite some time, as if she (or rather Blizzard's scriptwriters) couldn't make up her mind about her own plans.

Criticism of Sylvanas is by no means a new thing; there have been complaints at least since the beginning of her career as leader of the Horde. Some fans (admittedly not many) still believed that perhaps the seemingly inconsistent actions of the undead elf were part of an elaborate plan. Now, however, after the revelation of what many believe to be the character's naivety, players are expressing their displeasure en masse. There's a ton of threads on Reddit that are making fun (often in a bitter way) of how Sylvanas' story turned out. This includes variations on the familiar theme of a surprised Pikachu, Chad Garrosh, and characters (and players) hoping that WoW after Legion is just a dream or delusion.

There's another reason why fans aren't thrilled with the Sanctum of Domination's finale, and it can be summed up in one word: cliffhanger. Even aside from the clichéd villain leaving the heroes to their own devices (which I'm sure he'll definitely won't regret in the future), Blizzard's finale is a painfully typical example of the infamous "more of the same". It wouldn't be so bad if the players got a satisfying ending... which, as we described above, didn't happen in this case.
