Songs of Conquest: How to increase the size of Wielder's army?

How to command a bigger army in Songs of Conquest? We explain this topic in detail - show how to get more Troop Slots and how to increase the Troop Size. All of this will allow your Wielder to maintain a bigger army when traveling the map.

Unlocking new Troop Slots

1. Each hero has a limited number of Troop Slots. You can read the current capacity in the upper part of the screen, right from the Wielder's portrait. In the example in our picture, the hero has 3 Troop Slots and 2 of them are already taken.
2. The limited number of Troop Slots may cause problems, especially in late game - you may want to maintain a lot of different types of units, or to make favorite units take more than 1 slot.

1. You can solve the described problem by unlocking and upgrading the Command skill. It isn't related to the wielder's faction or class and may appear on the list of available abilities when leveling up.
2. Each new level of the Command skill adds 1 new Troop Slot for the given Wielder. We recommend getting 5-6 Troop Slots as soon as possible to have space for various types of units.

1. In the game world, you can also find items improving Command skill and an example of such rare weapon can be seen in the screenshot above.
2. The disadvantage of such artifact is that the effect is temporary, i.e. it remains active as long as the item is placed in the active slot. After changing the active item, Command will drop by 1 point.

Increasing the Troop Size

1. An important limitation in the game is that a single Troop Slot can only hold a limited amount of units. This varies depending on the type of unit - the rarer it is, the less of it can "fit" in 1 slot. In the example from the screenshot, a single Troop Slot holds up to 20 warriors at a maximum.
2. Once the given Troop Slot is full, the next batch of the same unit will take the next free slot. This creates a problem, as there will be less space for units of different types.

1. Increasing the number of units fitting a single slot can be done thanks to conducting research - we describe this topic in detail on Research and resources page. In short - every faction in the game has buildings connected to research that can be raised in towns. For example, the Arleon faction can build Grand Armory and Academy.
2. Among the available research projects, there will be ones related to increasing the army. The technology shown in the screenshot allows increasing the number of villagers fitting on a single Troop Slot.
3. Make sure to develop research projects connected to types of units you use the most. The research projects often have tiers and you can improve the given limit more than once.
