Stray: Controls
Controlling a cat in the game Stray is not very complicated, although it is useful to know all the basic movements and interactions. On this page of the tutorial you will find a summary of all the controls.

 | jump - you can't jump on command, instead you can only jump to sufficiently close ledges and objects (with the HUD turned on, the jump button icon will always appear); validate action when communicating with B-12 |
 | meow - it has no use for most of the game and is only required at a few points in the game to attract attention; cancel action when communicating with B-12 |
 | use / conversation (with robots); have B-12 show an item |

 | run - it's unlimited and quite useful, for example while escaping from monsters |
 | Defluxor - it's a UV lamp to attack monsters, but you have to unlock it first in chapter 7; after chapter 8 it will be unavailable again |
 | Inventory and Memories menu (B-12 has to be traveling with you) |
 | help - B-12 can give you tips for the current stage goal |
 | flashlight (B-12 has to be travelling with you) |
Additional controls settings
The list of options in the control tab is limited. You can:
- Set the sensitivity of camera rotation - by default, it's the central value on the bar.
- Invert view - it's available separately for the vertical view (Y axis) and for the horizontal view (X axis).
- Assign actions to other buttons - it's possible while viewing the list of control buttons.
