Dredge The Pale Reach: How to catch Colossal Squid?

While completing the Dredge The Pale Reach expansion, you can catch new species of fish and other underwater creatures. Colossal Squid is one of them and this page of the guide will teach you about the requirements for catching it using a fishing net.

Obtaining and installing Radiant Trawl Net

1. Catching Colossal Squid is initially impossible because you don't have the required net. You must complete the main quest Under the Ice first. Its full walkthrough can be found on the DLC Quests page.

1. The reward for completing the Under the Ice quest is Radiant Trawl Nets and one of its features is that it allows you to catch as many as 49 fish (7x7).

Catching Colossal Squid in the net

1. After installing Radiant Trawl Net, submerge the net and swim around Pale Reach. In our case, the squid got caught near the Southern Locus, but it may be random.
2. Catching the first Colossal Squid should automatically unlock the From the Black Depths achievement.

1. If you look at the tab displaying the fish you've caught, the squid should be there. You can then sell this specimen at a large profit (for about $250).
