Dredge The Pale Reach: How to catch Fallen Stars?

You may encounter some problems when attempting to catch Fallen Stars crabs in the newest The Pale Reach expansion to Dredge. Here we explain how to prepare for the planned fishing and where to put Crab Pots (crab traps) best so you'll have the biggest chances of catching this Aberration.

Searching for Fallen Stars

1. Fallen Stars are an Aberration of Sea Stars crabs appearing in the newest The Pale Reach expansion to Dredge. It is possible to obtain this specimen only while sailing across Pale Reach, which is a new arctic region introduced by the DLC.
2. You'll be tasked with acquiring Fallen Stars during the Figure in White sidequest which we describe in detail on the DLC Quests page of the guide. Additionally, catching this crab brings you closer to collecting 100% of fish available in the expansion.

Catching the Aberration using Crab Pots

1. Fallen Stars is a specimen from the Crab category . This means that to be able to fish them, you'll need to visit Travelling Merchant in Black Pontoon and in Fish Market tab, buy crab traps - Crab Pots.

1. It is best to buy as many Crab Pots as possible within your budget (their supply is constantly renewed) to expedite the fishing process.
2. To place a trap, choose Crab Pots from the drop-down menu. You can place them virtually anywhere in the Pale Reach archipelago. The only requirement is that the depth in the given location must exceed 50 meters. We recommend placing the pots around Bleak Pontoon (as shown in the screenshot). This will allow you to easily return to them and check their content, e.g. when returning with other caught fish.

1. Check all deployed Crab Pots regularly. You have to count on luck that instead of a standard crab, you'll catch the Aberration - Fallen Star. With one caught, you can return to Hooded Figure to continue with Figure in White quest.
