The only production in this list that you won't be able to play solo. A Way Out was created from the beginning with two people working together in mind, but it's not the kind of cooperative play that the game market has accustomed us to. This original tale of two convicts escaping from prison can be explored by playing locally or online, but the screen will always be split anyway. However, this is not a technological limitation, but a unique form of narration.

When one part of the screen displays a cutscene, the player on the other side may have some task to perform. Set in shades of black and white only. Quiet ambient in headphones. A boy lost in an undefined forest, where everything tries to kill him, and in a surprising and very violent way.

The developers, of course, didn't stop with just atmosphere and serving up disturbing scenes, complementing the whole thing with excellent platforming sequences, bringing Limbo to almost every piece of gaming hardware in the last eight years. Everyone wants to have this indie in their offer, because it's simply an excellent game - you'll jump a little, do some thinking, feel fear alternating with relief, and even score a solid mindfuck when you start looking for the hidden message. A real gem of digital distribution, after which you immediately run to the next game of this developer - Inside, which is described above in this list.
