3. Diablo 4. 25 best hack'n'slash hames of all time (2023)

Table of Contents

Diablo fans don't have an easy life. They had to wait a long 12 years for the premiere of the third installment. They needed just a little less patience to see the next installment. The third installment and Diablo 4 are separated by 11 years. Did Blizzard manage to polish the latest game in the series during this time? You only need to look at the position taken by the fourth Diablo to know that, to a large extent, yes, although it wasn't ideal.

Blizzard duplicated some of the bugs that made life difficult for players in the launch version of Diablo 3. I will present them at the end. Meanwhile, let's focus on what went according to the developers' and (above all) fans' plans. The state of the servers, specifically their stability and throughput, is to be commended. This time, there was no need to create memes with an error code greeting those eager to hack and slash demons. Fans also had no reason to make fun of the visuals. After the overly colorful third installment, the series returned to a much darker climate, although there is still no shortage of color fever.

The essence of Diablo 4 is, of course, combat, and this one is... the best in the series! The slaughter of the hell's creatures is characterized by dynamism and slasher determination. At the same time, the player must focus not only on activating skills but also on other aspects of the game. In the fourth installment, you have to pay attention to what is happening on the battlefield. Sure, this requirement was already present in the previous installments, but now we have to be even more careful observers. It's also worth looking around due to the magnificent design of most locations. The open world introduces new possibilities and it's enjoyable to traverse through it, while learning the fantastic story told within the single-player campaign. .

Unfortunately, the multiplayer has some issues. Character balance is problematic, although patches often make significant changes in this regard. Not always for the better, though. I don't know if what I'm about to write will still be relevant in a few days, but typically there is only one "correct" build, at least if you want to play as efficiently as possible. Of course, there are plenty of opportunities to experiment. The endgame with monotonous dungeons isn't fun, although this time, it's better than in Diablo 3. The itemization supporting different styles of play and the frequency of item drops deserve praise. The character development system and the mechanics of crafting and alchemy are also satisfying.

Don't let minor problems discourage you. Analyzing all the pros and cons, it turns out that Diablo 4 is a really good game. Blizzard responded promptly to criticism and implemented the necessary changes. The developers addressed the most pressing issues and improved the major problems, which the players appreciated. If the pace of updates and their quality are maintained, a bright future awaits this game. The only thing missing for complete happiness is the regular release of new content.
