MOTORSPORT MANAGER MOBILE 3 IN A NUTSHELL
  1. Developer: Playsport Games
  2. Publisher: Playsport Games
  3. Release date: July 2018

An unusual, but definitely notable mobile strategy is Motorsport Manager Mobile 3. This is a rare specimen of mobile strategy about a motorsport. The game was developed by a small team that had no chance of getting an official Formula One license, but it is quite obvious what sport we're dealing with.

The scope of our duties is surprisingly broad. We need to hire drivers and technicians, oversee R&D, design the cars and tweak their settings to meet specific challenges. It is also necessary to apply appropriate strategies for the races, and to modify them as needed. Plus, we have to keep an eye on the financial side of the whole endeavor.

The economic model is complex and challenging. This particular sport requires huge effort and talented economic planning. The abundance of options and factors contributing to success can initially be overwhelming, but the game's systems ultimately provide a great deal of freedom once you get past that.

Motorsport Manager Mobile 3 is the latest part of the series and by far the best one. Compared to the last game, the authors improved difficulty balance, interface and graphics. Plus, we got many new leagues, tracks and competitions. On top of all that, there's the influence system, that lets you control the publicity of the team; find sponsors, hire drivers, and make dough.

Panzer Marshal

Business model: 100% free

PANZER MARSHAL IN A NUTSHELL
  1. Producer: Nicolae Pavel
  2. Editor: Nicolae Pavel
  3. Release date: September 2014

Unlike iOS, Android did not live to see the conversion of the best contemporary successor to the Panzer General series, i.e. Panzer Corps. That's ok, though, as users of the system from Google can play Panzer Marshal instead.

This game is a completely free strategy without any micropayments, a recreation the PC classic Panzer General 2. The game focuses on turn-based, operation-scale battles. The smallest units we control are brigades and divisions, rather than single soldiers. The gameplay mechanics are elaborate, but skirmishes are fast and dynamic, the flow is great, making hours pass unnoticed.

In addition, despite being free, the production is impressive in volume, offering a sporty set of campaigns to command both allied forces and the armies of the Axis States.

It is worth adding that until recently, this project functioned under the eminence of Open Panzer. The change of name did not bring about any negative changes, such as micro-payments. It's still the same, excellent, completely free clone of Panzer General 2. The author also released two further installments of the series: Panzer Marshal: Second Front and Panzer Marshal: Turning Tides offering a substantial set of additional campaigns.
