There was no shortage of psychological horrors this year. MADISON promised to be a strong horror with an interesting atmosphere from the very beginning. This is perhaps due to the fact that the creators were inspired by the famous PT, i.e. the would-be Silent Hills by Hideo Kojima. However, it's still a "walking simulator," which has been a popular genre in recent years, and one that's fortunately not lacking engaging elements. The game is also suitable for multiple playthroughs, because many events are generated randomly.
We play the role of a man who comes to face the titular demon, who "framed" him in a bloody ritual that started years ago. During the game, we explore a huge mansion, collect the necessary items, solve puzzles and try not to enrage the said demon, whose actions can affect the protagonist's perception. We also have a chance to free ourselves from its influence by using a Polaroid camera. The game might be a bit to keen on jump scares, but the atmosphere is just so intense.
