Manor Lords

Manor Lords is one of this year's most surprising games. It looks amazing in the announcements, but it is not a project of a large developer. The independent studio Slavic Magic consists of exactly... one person. The man in question is an ambitious Pole – he created this complex world inspired by medieval Europe from scratch.
Manor Lords will combine two genres. We will build and develop our own city. However, it will not be a typical idyll – we will face invaders already at the stage of development of the village. During the real-time battles, we will manage big units of soldiers and strategically plan the next moves.
Realism first
What distinguishes Manor Lords from similar titles is its great commitment to realism. Instead of simplified, utilitarian buildings serving very specific purposes, and pushing aesthetics to the background, we have some exceptionally detailed constructions here. Soldiers are also not only pawns on the map, but rather fleshed-out characters who are closer to real people than redundant avatars. The game cares about realism in every aspect, not only the visuals. The creator thought about various issues, such as weather conditions, seasons of the year, and, above all, fidelity to history. Not only the appearance, but also the functioning of our city and its inhabitants is based on academic knowledge.
Although the game's release is scheduled for 2024, we'll be able to play the Early Access version already this year. Manor Lords is sure to grow extensively over the next two years, but it's already looking encouraging. At the moment, this production is only created with PC in mind. However, we cannot completely rule out its release on other platforms – as is often the case with independent developers, a lot comes down to the potential success of the game on PC.
