The year 2020 was a memorable time, during which the debut of Xbox Series X on the market was buried in... not games, but trailers of games that did not exist. A promise of what may someday be the future of the platform. One such production is the next installment of the State of Decay series, an adventure survival game set amidst a zombie apocalypse. Well, that's about it. Apart from the fact that the game is being made, there's not much known about State of Decay 3, which got a single CGI trailer. Oh, I almost forgot, Phil Spencer also mentioned that he's excited about the work on the game in one of the interviews a year ago. So maybe there will be something to show this year?
Why are we waiting?
I remember the second part fondly because I reviewed it. I didn't like the technical quality, graphics, and numerous errors, but State of Decay 2 surely had that "something." Wonderful atmosphere of a zombie apocalypse, not-bad combat system, and extremely satisfying running over the undead with a car. You really had to weigh things up when planning to leave the base and look for resources further away. If only the same vibe and mechanics should go hand in hand with good technical condition and beautiful graphics, it may result in quite an engaging production.
