Yakuza, but in the times of samurai – such a game as a spin-off of the well-known series was created in 2014, but was only available in Japanese. Fans demanded an international release, and here it comes! And it's not just a simple translation, but a complete remake of the original game, done on Unreal Engine 4. Like a Dragon: Ishin takes place at the end of the samurai era – in 1867. We will play the role of the historical figure of Sakamoto Ryoma, who hunts down the murderer of his mentor, with the only clue being the original fighting style of his nemesis.

Despite the samurai setting, the game will also feature firearms and hand-to-hand combat, although the katana will of course be the main weapon, available to use in four different fighting styles. Traditionally for an open-world Yakuza series, you can expect tons of side quests and challenges, including crazy mini-games. There will be dancing, gambling, fishing, cockfighting and even cooking! Many of these activities will not just be mere time-fillers, but will have their own unique story background. Fans of the Yakuza series, in turn, will certainly recognize famous characters and events analogous to those of the modern installments of the series.
