Elden Ring: How to get a horse?
This page of the Elden Ring tguide answers the question - what to do to summon a Spectral Steed.
On this page of the Elden Ring game guide, you will learn how to unlock Torrent, the Spectral Steed, which will allow you to cover significant distances quickly and help you in battle.
The Spectral Steed isn't just a mount that will help you cover long distances in less time, but it will also aid you in combat against powerful opponents. He is fast and can perform double jump. While riding it, you can still attack enemies but can't use shields. Combat on horse is based on striking and quickly moving away from enemies before they can hit you back. You start the game without a mount. To unlock it, you need to obtain the Spectral Steed Whistle first.
You'll get the Spectral Steed Whistle from Melina after you unlock a few sites of grace. Melina will talk to you automatically during the cutscene when you are resting at one of the sites and offer you help. Agree to receive access to the Roundtable Hold and the whistle.

After obtaining the whistle, equip it in the item quick select menu to use it anytime you need it. Using the whistle will summon Torrent, and you will immediately mount it. Summoning Torrent is free but only available in certain places - usually large, open areas. You can also mount the Spectral Steed during some boss fights.
The mount has a separate health bar and can die. But don't worry - its death is not permanent. If Torrent dies, you can resurrect it by resting at any site of grace (it will come back to life automatically) or by using the whistle again and spending one Flask of Crimson Tears charge. You will restore the charge automatically when you rest at any site of grace.
Occasionally, while traveling around the game world, you may also encounter huge streams of air emerging from the ground. If you enter the stream on your mount and jump, the jump will be much higher, allowing you to access places that cannot be reached any other way. You also won't suffer any fall damage.
